Mirror - A Website redesign for e-commerce

Problem Statement

They were very late in the game of a digital transformation. They have plenty of remaining inventory in their warehouses that are very difficult to move if there are only a few pieces left.

Goal

They wanted to remake their website, with a new logo and an e-commerce responsive website, allowing them to sell their products online.

Research

Goals

We wanted to know how customers identify themselves with the company and what are the most popular items so we understand better their successful business and repeat that on the e-commerce level.

Methods

Comparative and competitive market research to see what their competitors offer and at what price points.

Customer interviews to understand shopping behaviors

Persona

The purpose of personas is to create reliable and realistic representations of your key audience segments for reference

In order to achieve a well defined persona, we performed user interviews. Four participants were interviewed, being three females and one male, between ages 21 and 57.

Wireframes

A wireframe is a lightweight design document used to communicate design solutions quickly, before creating high fidelity designs. The goal is to help establish what features are required, without too much time spent on brand aesthetics.

Brand Awareness

‘Your brand is what people think and say about you. It is the values that are associated with you and what you do or provide’. – Roberto Blake

Prototyping

We wanted to know how customers identify themselves with the company and what are the most popular items so we understand better their successful business and repeat that on the e-commerce level.

Conclusion

Achieved

As a course project, this really gave an overall experience of the whole process of creating a use case project for a start of a portfolio. We learnt a lot not just by the process itself, but technical skills on designing logos, icons, and whole pages flows.

Improvements

I think the biggest challenge was staying with short timelines to deliver results. Specially on the research phase, I think having multiple rounds of interviews to narrow down even more personas and flows would help to bring a end product more realistic.
